GEAT FOUNDATION is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization (EIN: 85-4314128), founded by Ethiopians residing in the United States. Incorporated in Delaware and registered in California, its mission is to enhance the quality of education in rural Ethiopia.
In the short term, GEAT aims to transform dilapidated rural schools into centers of holistic education by 2032, focusing on one region at a time. In the long term, the foundation seeks to establish a network of model schools that adhere to globally recognized quality standards while celebrating local values, ultimately benefiting disadvantaged rural communities.

GEAT believes that large part of Ethiopia being rural, a leapfrogging strategy could help propel the rural schools into innovation hubs through immersion in technology, training and education tailored to enable students become successful, ready and participants in the international job market.
As coding is becoming the abc of elementary schools around the world, the majority of Ethiopian children in rural centers should be provided with the opportunities to catch-up through emersion into coding from early age.

- Cinematography training

This lab will be equipped with books, musical instruments and band equipments along with accessories
- Fully setup music classroom
- School band equipment and uniform

Arts Lab
This lab will be equipped with art supplies, references models and easels.
(with syllabus and volunteer instructors to train trainers)
The library shall have:
- Properly selected and setup children reading materials and reading corners
- Children reading programs
- Audio and visual reading aids
- Reading programs and scholarships

Each intervention in schools is coupled with a set of training programs for teachers and students.

GEAT Scholars receive a fixed monthly allowance tied to their performance in yearly academic excellence competitions.

Solar Power
Recognizing the fact that most rural schools in Ethiopia don't have access to electricity, GEAT's Vision 2032 considers installing solar power as alternative.
